MNRI Family Conference Singapore 2024

The MNRI® Family Conference Singapore 2024 took place from 18-22 November. Over the course of five days, a total of 17 children received intensive therapy sessions, 22 MNRI® assessments were completed by a team of 12 MNRI® Core Specialists led by Dr Svetlana Masgutova, founder of MNRI®.

This week- long event kicked off on the first day with an opening circle where the families were introduced to the team of therapists, who flew in from the USA, Poland and Russia. The families themselves were based in Singapore, but some also made the trip from Taiwan and India.

Even though a number of the families receiving treatment were familiar with MNRI through treatment at Neural Connections, the conference presented an opportunity to go deeper into the work of repatterning and integrating the reflexes. The spirit of hope, learning and sharing was further boosted by the three evening lectures.

On Day 1, Dr Masgutova spoke on the importance of reflexes to a full house of not just conference participants but also the MNRI community in Singapore and people who were interested in learning more about the work. She spoke on just how foundational reflexes are, and how MNRI works to target those very reflexes. Thanks to some very sporting attendees, the audience was also able to witness reflexes in action. In addition, she highlighted how MNRI is a holistic, non-invasive, non-verbal,  interdisciplinary treatment that is grounded in research. This is truly why MNRI is so suited to every person - regardless of their condition, and why so many children with needs or who are on the spectrum benefit so much from this work. “I really enjoyed the talk. [It was] absolutely fascinating,” said one of the attendees.

Hope was the main theme for the lecture on Day 2 with Isabelle Renard-Fontaine, an MNRI Core Specialist and Instructor as well as a paediatric physical therapist. She presented  a case study where MNRI therapeutic intervention helped a baby regain the use and control of her right arm when surgeons had recommended amputation to the baby's parents. The way that the baby overcame all odds with the help of MNRI and is now an active child who does cartwheels moved many in the room. This is the power of MNRI - and the way it brings hope to so many children and families when others have indicated otherwise.

To finish off on Day 3, Dr Masgutova led attendees through some of the reflex work that they can do at home. It was a hands-on session with the attendees practicing on each other with the guidance of the MNRI Core specialists and many got to understand first-hand what an MNRI treatment session might feel like.

The MNRI® Family Conference Singapore 2024 wrapped up on a rainy Friday evening with a train of participants receiving their medals and their certificates surrounded by beaming parents. One of the parents remarked how their child was “more calm” and “more playful” and even tried practicing MNRI on himself.

Another parent whose son has been receiving MNRI treatment for the last five years shared, “I truly wish this can be a permanent event for Singapore not only for my son but also for many families in Singapore.”

A huge thank you to everyone who made this Family Conference possible. We are also very grateful to Clean and Real Foods for the yummy, gut-friendly dips and crackers; Fizzicle for the kombucha and kefir; and 88Productions for some of the photos captured.
